I don’t even know where to begin with all the fu I don’t even know where to begin with all the fun we had with our daughter and family’s visit!

We celebrated our granddaughter’s 6th birthday, worked on art projects, decorated cookies, decorated the tree, celebrated Thanksgiving and Christmas, hosted multiple family game nights, went to zoo…

My husband played multiple games of Cat and Rats, my parents took us for ice cream, and the house was full to the brim.

It was wonderful. My heart is full.

I know many who are grieving this holiday season. You are in my prayers. Friends, we know tomorrow is not guaranteed. Let’s love well today.
Life is very full and good. I’m so thankful to h Life is very full and good. I’m so thankful to have a full house this week. We’re still missing kids and grands, but I’m very happy with our current reality.
“At last I have found my vocation; IT IS LOVE.”
—St. Therese of Lisieux

How wonderfully, amazingly life-giving it is to be reminded that I don’t have to “set the world on fire”.

I don’t have to buy into hustle culture or making a name for myself.

It’s ENOUGH to live a quiet life.

Jesus said it best, when asked about the most important thing.

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

I think those are high aspirations for a lifetime.
It never fails to amaze me how a nice topping of m It never fails to amaze me how a nice topping of mulch punches up the garden!

Thank you to my hubby for slinging mulch.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend.
Just returned from a visit to the salon @tricholog Just returned from a visit to the salon @trichologysalon Thank you, Tammy.

Decided I should run an errand while out, which became two errands and then three…

Funny how that works! Please tell me it’s not just me…
Enjoying a little break. We have very exciting ti Enjoying a little break.

We have very exciting times coming up: our youngest son will be living with us for a bit during a career transition, plus our daughter and her family will be visiting for 8 days!

We are SO excited! I’m trying to get a head start on Thanksgiving and Christmas, planning all sorts of fun, and sorting/organizing to accommodate 8 more people in the house.

I love it when events force me to do the projects I’ve been putting off for months…

I’m the Procrastination Queen, I think.

Whatever projects you’re working on, I hope you’re treating yourself to some refreshing breaks! So tell me, what projects are you working on now? Or procrastinating over?
I’ve been taking a break from posting, but my de I’ve been taking a break from posting, but my desire to share is reviving!

Sharing my gardening wins today: they don’t look like much, but all you gardeners will get it!

Here I am, exhausted and filthy after an afternoon of gardening, enjoying a post-work kombucha.

Photo 2: this bed of Russian Sage was almost completely obliterated by creeping crawling Bermuda Grass. What a JOB to untangle. Bermuda grass is the scourge of my Oklahoma gardening life. Well…one of my scourges.

Picture 3: Our soil is horrible, craggy, suffocating clay. When we moved in 15 years ago, I made the ill-fated decision to attempt a butterfly garden back in this corner.

Apparently the builders used this corner to bury construction debris. We discovered chunks of concrete and dirt that was so compacted.

I’ve been working at enriching the soil and trying to find plants that will thrive here.

I’ve killed SO MANY plants in this area.

I decided to attempt some bulbs this year (why not kill a few more plants, eh?), and as I planted today…

Behold! I found my first ever earthworms in this patch!!! For those who don’t garden: earthworms in your soil are an indicator of soil health.

Tomorrow we’ll lay more mulch. Tonight I’m resting on my laurels!
What a beautiful and encouraging book! I found so What a beautiful and encouraging book! I found so much encouragement and grace here for living a faithful, joyful life. Highly recommend!
